It’s going to depend on how many WATTS your system your powering up needs . 8AWG Kicker is capable of up to 600Watts . So if you need 1000Watts, you’re going to want to go with 4AWG because it’s stronger cable but that’s why it’s also more expensive . Lower # AWG = Higher Wattage capacity
