The Rockford R2 is rated at 250 Watts RMS Power Handling and is a dual voice coil design, each coil at 4-ohms. You could parallel wire the subwoofers to make each one a 2-ohm driver and then parallel wire your two subs for a 1-ohm load at the amplifier. The KICKER CXA400.1 Amplifier is designed to produce 400 watts at 1-ohm. This would give you 200 watts RMS to each subwoofer. KICKER recommends using an amplifier that is rated to produce +/- 20% Watts RMS of your speaker systems total RMS rated power. So, with a 500 Watt RMS rated speaker system (2 R2 12" subwoofers), KICKER recommends using an amplifier that falls within the 400-600 Watts RMS range. The KICKER CXA400.1 would work well in this situation. We always recommend setting the gains properly and do not operate your amplifier into clipping.
