I could not use a passive LOC, and this was $60 versus an active audio control LOC that may or may not have worked and cost $400 or more. This tells the computer that there are speakers connected to the stereo when there are none, so that it will allow the high pass signal to flow to the amp inputs. Otherwise, the computer sees no resistance and shuts off to protect the radio.

It is designed to be used in conjunction with a LOC or the FIT inputs already built into KICKER amplifiers in instances where the OE (factory radio) protection circuit utilizes a design that requires it to "see" a particular impedance load or it will shut itself off and not pass any audio signal. In these cases, you simply add the KISLOAD4 or KISLOAD2 (purpose and power-based decision) to the speaker outputs before your LOC or KICKER FIT inputs so you will get audio signal from your OE (factory) Radio. Visit your local KICKER dealer if you need assistance.
