- Answer its just like a flash drive when plugged into PC. yes, the data can be cleared.

QuestionWhen transferring photos to a PC, what file extension is used? The Sandisk iXpand saves all photos with a HEIC extension which makes it impossible to open without using another program to change them to .JPG or .JPEG...what a pain!

- Answer I think apple made all its photos to be saved as HEIC. its by default. you need to get a HEIC to JPG converter online. you have a lot of freeware. its nothing to do with the device. its apple who made to use this extension. this saves lot more details than JPEG and used less space. so it makes sense for apple to use it.
