Hello! The trash compactor has a handle to open the door. Thank you for your inquiry about our KitchenAid appliances.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The compactor is opened by foot. One steps on a foot pedal, and the drawer slides open. Once the drawer is close, compacting us begun by stepping on the smaller power pedal on the right side of the unit.
