“The shelf I have for a microwave is 18" deep. This microwave is 20.5" deep. Allowing for an inch air space in the back, will the front "legs" still rest on the shelf?”

Yes., but it may stick out the front. The resting feet on the Microwave bottom are 11” deep and 16” wide. The Manuel says “allow a few inches of space at the back and side of the microwave oven where the exhaust vents are located.” “ Blocking the exhaust vents could cause damage to the microwave oven as well as poor cooking results.” “Make sure the microwave oven legs are in place to ensure proper air flow.”
