How does the recirculating option work? null

Hello KarenB, The recirculating option takes the steam and smoke from the cooking surface below and filters it through the grease and charcoal filters and pushes it back into the home from the top front of the unit. We hope this helps.

You will hear a very low sounding fan (really low hum) when the stove below is cooling from cooking - we have been really impressed with the product.
