Viewed Prop 65 website. Prop 65 is officially the Safe drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986. It’s a law that requires warnings to be provided to California consumers when they might be exposed to chemicals identified by California as causing cancer or reproductive toxicity. It lists a bunch of chemicals found to cause health risks. I’m thinking that a chemical in the detergent used is probably the concern for the Cali prop 65 warning. Most items have that warning label on them, including Christmas lights, foods, alcoholic beverages, beauty products, motor vehicles, snack goods, etc.

Proposition 65 requires warning labels on any product that may contain or product any of 600-plus elements that the California Air Resources board considers a carcinogen or reproductive toxicant. Information about Proposition 65 is available on the official California web site http://www.oehha.ca.gov.prop65.html
