“Installer says can't be set flush with cabinets cos steam from side vents will damage cabinets, is this true? Book says need 2" clearance on sides but contradicts picture which shows opening as being 24" wide, and shows DW width as 23 7/8".How get flush”

Turns out I misinterpreted the "Corner locations" as "for all corners of the dishwasher", when it actually means that 2" requirement only applies if placing the dishwasher in a corner.
