“What is the giant black screen on the front? From website manufacturer photos, it is hard to tell what it is for. Does it display information about the cycle? Does it serve any other purpose? Seems so large and gaudy. Curious if people who own one like it”

Not a big fan of it; would have preferred a small display inlay in the stainless without the black piece. There is a visible display when the cycle is running. I see no purpose other than to reduce the cost of materials.
