This is a standard size unit. We had to have the installer cut the opening by 1/8 of an inch so the unit could fit. Keep in mind this was the opening but the inside of the cabinet was wider. The widest point is 27 inches BUT the inner part of the unit is not as wide - I'm sure it will be fine. I hope this helps and I didn't confuse you.

If the outside measures 26 inches, the opening and current unit is probably 24 inches so you would most likely have to widen the opening. There are cut out drawings for most appliances available online from the manufacturer.
