• Hello sonia! There is no trim on this model. The paint should not chip if used correctly per the Use and Care Guide.

• There is not any trim, the edge of the cooktop tapers.

• The trim appears to be the same as the cooktop. No metal. I have had this cooktop since December and I cook daily. I don't have any chips or scratches on the cooktop. It takes a bit of getting used to with the induction, but I really like it Clean it with cerama bryte

• There is no trim per say. I have the black "trim" but the cook top surface is mitered to slope down to the counter surface - it's lovely. I have stainless appliances but in a previous house I had a cook top with a stainless trim and it scratched almost immediately. I have s/s appliances now as well but the solid black cooktop is great. I wouldn't have a trim again.

• Don't buy this unit. It will repeatedly fail on you and getting it services under warranty - either manufacturer or Geek Squad - is an absolute nightmare.
