The cooktop comes with all new fan and motor so shouldn’t need to match up the dimensions to existing. You will most likely need new duct and high heat tape from hardware store to route the exhaust to your current exit. Hope that helps. I installed mine myself, was not that difficult. Might need two people, it’s heavy to lift in motor connected.

My previous stove was the same size with a downdraft, so ended up getting a new one with bigger burners. The downdraft is part of the cooktop. The knob to turn on the downdraft is located along side the knobs for the stove. It has low and high setting. The down draft has a filter, which I remove and clean after every use.
