A:AnswerHello! We are terribly sorry to hear about your concern. We would recommend contacting KitchenAid® at 1(800)422-1230. We are available M - F 8 am to 6 pm est. They will be better able to assist you.
A:AnswerEverything you need to know is answered for you, almost. Look at “PDF installation guide”. It uses 120 volt. NO! You don’t use batteries! Come on. This, they do not tell you. If there is a power outage, simply strike a match, hold it near, not too close, to the burner. Turn on the burner. The gas will start to flow. It will come into contact with the lit match causing the burner to flame. Don’t keep holding the match there. You will get burned.
A:AnswerYou can buy cast iron griddles at Walmart, or anywhere, hardware store, to put on top of the burners. Much easier to clean, than cleaning the stove.
A:AnswerWhy would you buy a downdraft stovetop? You need a regular stovetop and a regular top vent. You need to talk to someone who is experienced in installing those things.
A:AnswerCover the fan opening area partially with a non-flammable item - thus defusing the fan's power by as much or little as you want. On mine, I love the 3 fan speeds.
A:AnswerI also bought this one to replace a Jenn Air that I loved. I will say I am happy that I replaced it with this one. The installation was professionally completed and I don't have information about a space kit, sorry!
