• Hi May, the cook top has five burners. The center burner is not oval in shape.

• It is oblong shape burner. It comes with a cast iron skillet/grill insert that replaces the center grid.

• Yes, it has 5 burners with an oval burner in the center.

• the cook surface is all stainless underneath the burners & easy to clean. The center burner is oval and heats well but less heat hits the edges of the grill overlay
