“Can it be used for a small number (4) of medicine pills? Thanks!”

Probably not if the pills are small. The blade sits up from the bottom of the grinder cup, so if they aren't big enough to touch the blade they can't get ground up.

I bought this in order to grind my flaxseeds because they're super small. Once it got here, I took one look at the raised blade and thought "Oh No," but to my surprise, it ground two teaspoons of flaxseed into a coarse meal. I think the friction makes the small items float upwards. I'm not sure how it did it, but it worked just fine and flaxseeds are itsy bitsy.

I haven't thought about using it on pills. Why do you feel the need to? Do you have a difficult time swallowing them? For that reason, I think it would work.

It should grind them but may have problems getting it to a fine powder.

Potentially... The grind space is larger. Itd probably take a little bit to get it ground up finely with only 4.
