“Does this get very hot anywhere on the outside? I have breathing issues & can no longer use my regular oven as a result. Does this give off any smoke, etc or strong smell other than aroma of whatever you're cooking/baking? Thanks”

My apologies for not being able to answer your question any sooner. It may be too late, but here you go. The first 2 times I turned the toaster oven on it did smoke a lot. I washed the wire rack with soap and then it stopped smoking. That could just be coincidence, but the directions do suggest washing. It doesn't get extremely hot on the outside. I can touch it without getting burned, I don't notice any strong aroma coming from it. At this time I am very pleased with the Kitchenaid toaster oven.
