We recommend connecting the R-800F to a receiver that supplies close to 150 Watts at 8 Ohms.

If you don’t want to change receivers, go for one of the other Klipsch towers that has a lower wattage such as the same 800 series but in a 400w rather than 600w. Only buy a speaker that you have the power to run it off of. For example you can buy a 50k speaker but if you use $30 wires the speaker is going to deliver the quality of the wire you used. Each component is like a car, using the incorrect gas or oil could damage a component and also max out capability. You could drive 0-120 in 5 seconds but instead with the wrong receiver and cord, you will go 0-max70 in 25 seconds.

You can use the receiver you have but you will not be able to get anywhere near what the speaker is capable of. So you don’t want to, and there’s always the possibility of burning the speakers by trying to increase volume to a degree your 90w receiver cannot handle. I’m using a 300w receiver to power the speakers with subwoofer.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I haven’t been up on the newest audio equipment on the market but Denon sells a receiver/amp that I can build my atmos system around it. My condo isn’t gigantic so this configuration works for me.
