I have mine currently hooked up with a standard RCA cable with no issues.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've actually got the same pioneer receiver and using this subwoofer. Go with the subwoofer cable. Plug into LFE plug. Set to phase O . Turn low-pass knob all the way to LFE. Got my gain set to 1/4 due to the power of this bad boy.
