Are floor standing speakers used for front or rear? null

They can be used for both, I have them as rears.

Rich, I use the Klipsch for back speakers. For front speakers I have ADS L 1590 which are bigger than the Klipsch's. I wrestled with the decision of ceiling speakers or smaller desk top speakers for the back. I made my decision listening to the sound from the floor standing speakers. They were way better and the price was actually cheaper than some smaller speakers. After I bought them and installed them I thought what was I thinking. They looked like monuments standing in the back of the room The front speakers are in a cabinet and you cannot see them. I did get used to them after a couple of days. Every time I turn on the system I am thankful I bought the floor standing speakers. Having them in addition to the other floor standing speakers just makes for a whole lot better listening experience.

Typically just fronts, but there's no reason barring use of another set for rears if you so desire.

These speakers can be used for either connection spot on your stereo.
