165 watts Denon I'm using is fine. But 185 might be better. The eq setting let me turn up the tone and bass and treble dbs. Turned volume halfway to about 55 its loud. Not distorted.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a Denon receiver myself. Model is some letters and 600 something. They put out about 150 watts times two into a 8-ohm load per speaker. The Klipsch towers LAUGH at my receiver's amp! Driving the towers hard and loud for over an hour and then, Silence. The amp's "protection circuit" shut it down to keep it from melting! After a cooling off period, the party continued (at a significantly reduced volume) and the Klipsch towers were STILL LAUGHING!! Lesson learned.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The avr 3100 denon receiver would be a great match for these! A little lacking in power but they will come alive at close to half volume. Plus the quality should be outstanding!!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. These are highly efficient speakers you can drive them with as little as 20 watts rms and they'll handle up to 150 watts rms.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use a Channel Islands Audio 200w amp on my R 28s but these are so efficient that they could probably run on any receiver.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the AVR 3100 denon and these speakers and i couldn't be happier. The set up is in a 22' x 22' room and the sound is crystal clear and plenty loud. I should note that i chose a 5.1 surround sound setup and Bi-Amped (Bi-Wired) (Run two speaker wires to each speaker) these speakers into the Denon. That way you double the amount of watts going to each speaker. I cant say whether or not they are good in a 7.1 or 7.2 setup. The Denon manual describes the process to Bi-Amp these speakers for a great 5.1 setup. The Denon is great for allowing you to select the 5.1 Bi-Amp feature from its menu so it sends the correct surround sound to these speakers.
