Would lying sidewise be awkward? null

I have 6 of my 8 laying down sideways close to the ceiling and on slanded panels point downward about 15 degrees. My towers and my bookshelves. Saved space and allowed me increase my distance between speakers.

I wouldn’t put them sideways as I don’t think the speaker was made to lay that way. Also, those logos on the grills will be sideways.

Not at all. The boxes have parallel sides.
