“I want to get these for my front main speakers in my 7.1 setup. Do you hook up one or both sets of red and black connectors in the back of the speakers? I have never owned speakers with this setup.”

You only have to hook-up on one set of connectors leave the jumpers in place, the reason for the two connectors are for if you have a high end system, so you can bi-amp. In that case you would remove the jumpers, connect the low frequency Amp to the LF connector and the High frequency Amp to the HF connector.
