Yes, It is compatible. This 12" subwoofer shakes my 28x20 living room. Surely it will shake a basement. Maybe even better with the acoustics in a basement.

Pioneer AVR with great performance and crossover from towers to sub. This sub is very powerful, I keep the level below 50%. If you like to feel the "boom" just crank it up.
