These speakers are designed to be "height" speakers in a Dolby Atmos setup. They are designed to compliment fronts or rears by resting on top of those speakers in an up-firing position to bounce sound off of the ceiling.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’ve currently got a 7 .3 (yes 2 x 12” L&R subs & SVS center Ultra 16) .4 (F & R ATMOS effects Spkrs) in my HT. Plan to use a pair of these angled Klipsch (all my surround & effects spkrs are Klipsch & L-C-R are Legacy) as side wall ATMOS effects spkr for 7.3.6 array. Going to first mount high on wall about 2/3 of rm length back fm screen so their angle faces downward. Suspect, since just limited Freq-range “effects”, they’ll sound great. However, if for any reason they seem lacking, I’ll then flip them over so angle faces the ceiling and their output reflected into the room. If, still “off” will lower on wall, keeping same ceiling-bounce orientation until they sound nicely integrated. And, it’s really not THAT critical, ya just want to enjoy the effects. Whether or not you orient direct or reflected (bounce) has more to do with signal timing at your ears. REMEMBER! These are “directional-que” effects spkrs and you want to be able to tell the sound is coming from the upper right center or far right rear, so diffusion can lessen the sonic impact. Your 5 or 7 surround spkrs are tasked with that job! So don’t sweat it too much & enjoy!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. These speakers will provide the Dolby Atmos experience when the source such as DVD etc has the tract to send. I might add they will do it very well. They will not produce Atmos from a non-Atmos source. You could mount them in the front on top of towers, or high on the wall upfront or rear. Used as side speakers will also offer quality sound.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you use them as front height speakers it will probably do a better job.
