I've compared Sony vs Klipsch before and hands down Klipsch is the way to go.

I have owned Sony 5.1, and now Klipsch, and I think Klipsch 5.1 has a fuller sound at higher volumes. The rule of thumb is to stick with the same brand if you've already got one because the "voice" of the speaker will blend better. With any speaker, the best advice is to go listen to them in person before you decide what you like best for your budget.
