There really isn't that much of a difference when it comes to specs. The r-34c is ideal for those that want a low profile speaker and are limited in space on their home theater set up. I currently own the R-34c and trust me when I tell you that it will sound the same as your R-52c. If you really want an upgrade, get the RP-600c.
