This speaker is a powered, stand-alone Bluetooth speaker, and will not need to receive power from an AV receiver. It produces a peak power of 60W and connects directly to a wall outlet.

I've heard systems with 300 watts of power that suck, and systems with 50 watts that sound amazing. Go with how it sounds instead of how many "watts" it has. I understand what you are asking, and if this was something advertised on QVC it may be a fair question. But this is Klipsch - they have been around forever and know a few things about sound.
