The lock will work on Android or an Apple phone as long as you have the App for whatever system you have installed in your home . Typically this would be the Xfinity Home App or the Vivant Sky App for example. You definitely want to decide beforehand about what you are trying to achieve as far as options and features and make sure you purchase compatible devices and system. Decide what you want. Start with the Base station/ Controller Plan it out If you just looking for a wireless lock there are Bluetooth and WiFi locks that are cheaper and will work standalone. This lock is intended to be part of a total (or as much so) home system
