• I don't know, but it does work for Windows 10 to Windows 10, which was my application.

• I don’t know about XP to Win10 because Windows Settings may be different. The cable is a good way to move files from one system to another. Use the network settings to share machines and just copy from one machine to the other.

• Yes, but only via WiFi or network—you won’t be able to use the Laplink USB cable or have the software create a transfer file (kind of like a disk image.) Also, if there are applications on the old XP computer that aren’t compatible with Windows 10, they won’t transfer.
