The Software used in PC Mover will work on laptops - BUT - take note that each version of PC Mover uses a different media for the software. If PC mover is on a DVD then both the old and new laptops must contain a DVD player so that the software can be installed. Using either a Software Download (both PCs must have access to internet) or a USB memory stick is more likely to work on both laptops. New, very light and thin laptops no longer include DVD drives and do not include Ethernet ports because they are taller than the laptop is thick. So just pay attention to what media PC mover is supplied on and make sure both laptops include that media capability and it will work just fine. I also recommend however that regardless of the media you select, that both laptops will need access to the internet before you attempt to use PC Mover. I discovered that it was necessary to download a new version of PC Mover from the web. I ran into trouble getting PC Mover to work until I downloaded the update on both machines and then all went as expected. This suggests that the download version of PC Mover may be the best way to go so that only the latest version is being used.
