• I bought one a few months ago and in my opinion speed setting 1 and 2 are okay and the fan doesn't sound loud, but when I put it on the highest speed (3) it does sound more loud.

• Speed 1 and 2 are reasonable for running while you are sleeping. Speed 3 is very loud, but most effective for cooling a room faster. The latter is too noisy for use at bedtime.
