“I bought this case recently and the case will always have a message icon when i turn on the LED screen even though i have no messages nor do i have that icon set for anything. Is there away to get rid of that icon?”

Normally, when the case cover is closed, the LEDs come on and will display your time. When you get notifications, the icon will appear depending on what it is and then it should go away. If you have issues, I would recommend to take it back or contact Samsung.
