• Hey James, With SteamOS, using an eGPU has yet to be supported natively, and most users have used their eGPU through methods like Bazzite or unique setups. We will continue to work with Steam to share updates on rollouts of future feature updates.

• I know that Asus rog ally X can (expansive as heck) but even if it was compatible I would just say for that kind of money buy a console or full gaming pc setup/laptops but depending on the games then this should do just as well but personal choice is always one sided per say. If in reference of the external GPU unit then refer to the manufacture website and lenovo website aka customer service as you don't want to brick the unit,
