Might be difficult for a 4 year old, but they can use their imagination and make their own model out of the pieces. Keep the pieces together inside the box and they can grow into the model. Fun for youngsters to build and crash.

The pieces are small which crates a choking hazard. there are many other Lego options that are more appropriate for a 4 year-old. There are a few Star Wars sets out there that are age 4 friendly like, "The Crimson Firehawk" but I recommend Duplo until he is 6.
