I see quite a variation in mAh ratings for several brands of Li-Ion batteries which are listed as equivalent to the Canon NB-5L, all of which are 3.7V. Canon's is rated at 1120mAh and is $59.99. Lenmar's DLC5L is also 1120mAh and is $16.99. Digipower's CN5L is only 850 mAh and is $39.99. Will a higher mAh rating deliver more shots for a longer period before becoming depleted?”

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Normally, mAh is a measure of how long the battery will last. However, there is really no proper testing to ensure that the manufacturer's are doing their testing accurately. I have both the Lenmar and Canon batteries, and the Lenmar is awful in terms of battery life. I get maybe 1/3 to 1/4 of the life versus the Canon battery that came with the camera. So, don't believe the numbers alone.
