I work in tech support for the public school system here and I would say this should suit your moms needs, though she could probably get away with using a Chromebook(not promoting, just another option).

Please try again later.Well Lenovo is a good brand for sure but this laptop will do more then what you mom needs and may be a bit overwhelming for her to get a handle on if she is not familiar with Windows OS. If all she wants to do is e-mail and facebook just get her a simple smartphone cost less and does what she needs.
