As advertised it comes with 30 day trial and they offer Office 365 for $49. However, as pointed out below, your university should offer you Office 365 through your tuition fees!

That is a separate product that you have to purchase. It can be costly. Consider using OpenOffice instead. That can open Microsoft documents.

In order to keep the program active after the trial period, you will need to purchase a product key. You will not need to download any additional software.
