A: That is a very complicated question. Google the AMD processor model the put vs i5 or i7. Websites will show you all the data on how they compare. The A12 and the FX Amd processors are quad-core while and 7th gen i5 is a duo. Personally I think the 12 and FX are faster than the i5 by quite a bit. It also depends on how much ram the computer has and what task you are performing. A couple of Google searches will get you on the right track to figure out what's right for you. Amd processors are a great alternative to expensive gaming computers because of the graphics card they come with and their multitasking abilites.
Q: I was thinking on buying this but I wanted to know about the ghz on here. Anyone know?

A: Absolutely.....with no problems
A: 12, one 4g stick is soldered to the motherboard. Discovered AFTER Best Buy employees from floor, chat and Geek Squad all said 16. Specifications still state 16g. Why is unknown.
A: It took this laptop over 2 hours to load and it never loaded windows or the virus protection. Luckily I purchased the additional Geek Squad plan for 200.00. I had to contact them & have their tech remote access into the computer to load the missing systems. Not very impressed.
