• The software is preloaded and the recovery software is partitioned onto another part of the drive. I believe with Windows 8 you can create a recovery CD.

• Don't need one. It comes with part of its drive preset with installation media. The beautiful part of a hybrid drive is that the solid part acts as a separate drive and houses the OS along with recovery media that is activated via a small button next to the power button.

• No but you can make a restore thumb drive via windows that will work to restore or reinstall your OS.
