No. The eMMC solid state drive is soldered to the motherboard. If you need added storage space, there is an SD card slot within this device. You can also use any USB-based external hard drive and/or Cloud Storage Account for additional storage space.

You could get an external drive and connect it to the laptop full time but that seems unreasonable. The purpose of the Chromebook’s is to get you to use google drive cloud storage for your files so little to nothing is stored locally on the device allowing them to put such small amount of memory in it to than also keep costs of the device down.
