So while the manufacture date is 8/9/2018, Google says they will stop supporting the model on 6/1/2022. https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/6220366?hl=en
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Its confusing. The Google website https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/6220366?hl=en says the "Ideapad C330" auto updates until June 2025. But there is a footnote: "2. These devices have an extended AUE date; however, providing updates beyond June 2023 is subject to certain limitations including reliance on third party component suppliers. Google will work with suppliers in an effort to ensure continued support." Some "review" sites say the C330 will "die" on June 1, 2022. That's probably a safer bet. So basically, less than 3 years of guaranteed life. But if you can pick this baby up for $239 (BB) plus or minus.... On the other hand I may just go for the new enhanced C340 - at $289 and a June 2025 death, that's about $5/month vs the C330 at about $7/month. I guess it comes down to how often you need/want to buy new stuff. And how you feel about such planned obsolescence. I like a computer to give me 5 years and car 10 years. But different strokes....
