I had the same concerns. I have a Microsoft 365 subscription and after chatting with Microsoft and OneDrive support for 3 hours here is what I was informed. You can add the individual office apps from the play store on the Chromebook (excel, word, PowerPoint, OneDrive) but you will not be able to log into them with your Microsoft account without an error message. The apps will not sync because they are not supported yet on Chromebooks. However, I was told it’s possibly coming in the future. A workaround I am using is I added the Microsoft 365 extension on my chrome browser which gives me access to everything I need with syncing abilities in the cloud and it saves me space on my Chromebook without having to install the individual applications on it. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a Chromebook. It uses Google Docs for office type programs. Google Docs is completely compatible with Microsoft Office Programs and this is a free service through the Google Server. If you must have the actual Microsoft Office Programs, you can purchase Microsoft Office 365 for this Chromebook at the Google Play Store.
