I do voice recording (textbooks) at home and without a booth so I was concerned about this question. I went to listen at a few stores and heard nothing. Sales people said noise is not a problem. I decided to buy. Generally, the computer is very quiet. Infrequently and for short bits only (less than 10 seconds), the fan will turn on and then turn itself off. I don't find this interferes with anything I do. Tech managers for the firm I record for seem impressed with the quietness of my recording with this computer, again without a booth.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, there is a fan within this system and it does run on a regular basis to keep the device within optimum operating temperatures. We would recommend you record in a sound-proof room with the microphone only in the room and the computer outside the room you are recording in. There are also Omni-directional, noise cancelling microphones that can lower background noise as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is quiet most of the time, but you can hear the fan noise occasionally turning on.
