“Hardwired PC, you state shutting WiFi shuts hard wire connection. Must keep router for other machines. Eliminating it not feasible. How do you suggest I block only my WiFi signal for security but keep my hard wire connection enabled? Aren't they separate”

If you are using a router, it's main purpose is to create a WiFi signal. The hardware ethernet connection is an add on feature. You might check with the router manufacturer to see if there is a way to do what you want to do.
