When folded behind the screen, the keyboard becomes inactive. I use it exclusively in tablet mode and have not had any issues with overheating.

As long as you don't block the air vents on the sides of the device, the system will not overheat. This system is to operate within proper temperatures whether in laptop or tablet mode.
