USB 3.0 ports are backward compatible to any USB 2.0 device. Be sure you are not confusing the HDMI or other port for the USB 3.0. Also, be sure that the mouse is compatible with Windows 10. You can check to see if the mouse is compatible by plugging the mouse in to the USB 2.0 port to test it on this device.
