I bought this monitor for the same reason, the game you play must support 120hz-160hz whatever it may be. So right now take Apex Legends for instance, it's only optimized for PS4 so it only allows 60hz/fps and even though the monitor allows it to have more frames, the game does not. But take COD Cold War, it can run at 120fps so you can have 120hz enabled. But by default, the PS5 homescreen runs at 60hz so you won't know until you actually enter the game itself and the HZ changes.
