There is a 30-day trial of McAfee Virus Protection software that activates automatically with the initial activation of Windows 10. You do not need to use McAfee. You can uninstall McAfee and use the Windows Defender Virus Protection that is provided for free or install your own 3rd party virus protection software. Just uninstall McAfee first, as there can only be one active virus protection software on the computer.
