Yes, I have a similar ideapad 1, and the specs says max 16gb ram. However, I current have 24gb of ram in mine. You can max out to 40gb of ram. (8gb soldered + 32gb Stick) crucial has a compatibility chart you just put your model number in and it will tell you what products are supported
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Still confused on whether the non soldered one is upgradable
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi, thank you for your question. This model features one 8GB soldered DDR4-3200 + one 8GB SO-DIMM DDR4-3200 RAM modules.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later."Anonymous" makes an excellent observation, made even better by the fact that it is a real-world experience. So I searched several sites and find that he is probably correct, but that the higher number of 40GB is NOT supported by Lenovo, so, just as with over-clocking, you are taking your chance with RAM past 26GB.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.(Directed especially to "7lilacres.") This is not an answer, so shouldn't be submitted as one, but yes, it come with the Windows Home S Mode version. S Mode can be removed, however, allowing for the installation of any compatible software.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.(This is specifically directed to "JoseS," but is also applicable to the question in general.) Let's try this again. First of all, your comment is a question, not an answer, so should be separated from this set of replies. Second: There is one 8GB memory module included, which is soldered to the motherboard. There is ALSO an empty, standard SODIMM slot, which Lenovo states can accept another 8GB memory stick. So far so good Now, what I think the case is, is that you can actually put at LEAST another 32GB worth of RAM in that empty slot, for a total of 40GB. Lenovo does not quote this higher amount because the initial design was not intended for it, so if ONE person couldn't install that much more memory, they could potentially have a legal problem with the federal regulatory agencies overseeing such matters, and might be liable for a hefty fine, in the millions of dollars, or more. Companies that specialize in selling RAM, however, have no such problem: if their 32GB module doesn't work in the computer, they just have to refund the cost of one module (say, $50).
